Interview with Mr.Arvind Raj on Hospitality in a new Touch-free world by maintaining traditional culture.
“Success Mantra: Need to act as per the innovative world but along with our traditional culture.” – Mr.Arvind Raj
industry VIEWS: As a techno professional and a Corporate IT Manager at Dewdrop hotels & resorts a leading hotel group what is your view and version for the future of Hospitality ?
Mr.Arvind Raj: Nowadays things are moving and happening in a very fast mode.
For the hospitality industry and hoteliers now need to start focusing on the recovery process and for that we need to think of guest safety. And for guests to stay in your property, they need to trust you and the processes you’ve put in place, and for this Touch free Solution will play a very vital role in this.
I read one of your (Cogwave PMS) article “The best way to Reshape and Recover hospitality is to focus on the switch in guest behavior” that was really a good one and I think your team had done a good research on the guest behaviour. Covid-19 has sped up the adoption of guest-facing contact-less technology like check-in, food ordering etc. that actually will reduce the need for physical interaction in hotels, these touch-free solutions are now more relevant for this new world governed by physical distancing and few more factors.
industry VIEWS: Thank you sir for your compliment for our team Cogwave. So our next question to you that the touch free solution you are talking about this solution from which stage need to be implement ?
Mr.Arvind Raj: The implementation need to start from pre-arrival to guest departure.
industry VIEWS: How you define the human interaction or touch in a new touch-free world ?
Mr.Arvind Raj: See, touch-free solutions are required for guest safety, trust factors, experience etc. But whether guests check in online using these kind of solutions or in person at the front desk, guest will always expect to be greeted by smiling, welcoming hotel staff either way.
These technologies will never replace the human touch or feelings. Without human connection there is no hospitality. Travel never means exploring or watching new places or things we can do this through digitally or online as well; Travelling is all about communicating, experiencing new culture and people it’s all about human interaction. So traditional culture of our hospitality world is very beautiful and important.
